President’s Message

Welcome to the website of the Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  We encourage you to browse the site which highlights our activities.  We are a chapter of approximately 150 members who are committed to providing relevant and exemplary programming to meet the needs of our community.  The chapter has been recognized for its service earning Ohio Chapter of the year for 2006 and 2008 as well as the 2009 Community Service program winner in the areas of political action/awareness and educational development.

In keeping with our National theme “A Sisterhood Called to Serve: Transforming Lives, Impacting Communities,” we continue to implement programs that sustain the legacy of our 22 Founders and focus on our sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.

Our fundamental principles of scholarship and service that we were founded on in 1913 still rings true today and is evident in the project and service activities that we undertake on a national level from the Women’s Suffrage March in 1913 to the civil rights marches of the 1960s; the College Tuition Loan Fund established in the 1920s to today’s Delta Research Education Foundation (DREF); our first Citizenship Seminar on Capitol Hill in 1953 to Delta Days at the Nation’s Capital where we hosted over 800 sorors annually for the past 25-years .  Locally, we have dedicated over 50 years of service to the local Cincinnati community with such noted programs as Jabberwock, Teen Lift, Senior Citizen Health/Wellness Seminars, Speech Meets, City Council and Mayor Candidate Forum, to our current educational development programs: College Preparation Workshop, Scholarship, Cotillion, Delta GEMS, and Delta Academy.

We are excited to announce that on January 13, 2013, our sisterhood celebrated 100 years as an organization and we look forward to continuing to serve our nation, our community and the City of Cincinnati. Thank you for taking time to visit our website and learn more about our chapter. We invite your involvement in our numerous programs as we strive to engage our community.
